Computer wont play any cd's?

I have an emachine w3619 (intel celeron d 3.86ghz, 1.5 gig ram, vista). The cd rom fully functioned until recently when the only variable or change that was made is that I swapped the old cpu out for a dual core intel 2160. Now it will not access any cds that are put into the cd drive, operating system disk, games, or music. No cd's of any kind. I went into my computer and checked system properties and it said the device is functioning properly. I did have an error right after I switched cpu's it said "Re enter cpu settings in the CMOS setup" so i went into setup and set it to default settings and the message went away. Anyone else experienced this?

Try updating the firmware. I seen this a couple of times with my wife's drive in her comp, once in my own.
