Default Computer will not post/work

This has been asked many a time on TF but i havnt found one that really answered my question. Basically i have everything installed correctly and when i turn on the computer the fans start up but it wont post on the monitor.

I have taken out all the ram and it does beep.
I have cleared the bios.
I have tried another video card in it and it results in the same no postng way.
I have tried on another monitor and it does the same.

Im thinking the PCI slot on my mother board is screwed (because it still beeped without ram). I think it may have killed the other card i put in there aswell. So im thinking i might need a new motherboard and videocard. IS there anything else i can do before i go and buy another motherboard?

unless you bought that power supply after the problem started then don't rule out the power supply. if you can test another power supply then test it because a brand new power supply doesn't necessarily work properly.
