Hey guys,

I just built a new computer about 3 months ago and it just died 2 weeks ago. I thought it was the PSU so i ordered a new PSU and the power comes for about 3 seconds and turns right back off. (The case fans spin and the CPU fan spin.) Is the power shutting off due to the motherboard or what?

Thanks for your help

make sure the heat sink and fan are properly seated, it could be overheating, but I'm not sure if that could have killed the powersupply

What kind of graphics card? If you have a psu powered card and it has taken a dump your system will start to power up and then instantly shut down. Stick the video card in another puter and see if you get the same problem or normal boot. any dead psu powered ati or nvidia card will cause this problem if it has foobared.
