my psu died a few days ago due to a power surge. I thought it was just the power supply, so i changed it out. It loaded up the computer just fine the first few times. But i started to notice the computer would restart right after windows loaded, some where between the welcome screen and the desktop being displayed. I thought it was a corrupt OS and reinstalled XP. After reinstalling, the same problem happens...it gets to the welcome screen and then restarts.
It boots up fine in safe mode, but just not in normal mode. I changed out the hd and the ram wit some from another computer to test those out....same problem. Has my cpu/mobo gone bad when the psu blew? It get through the install of XP just fine, thats y i didnt think it was the cpu, but im not really sure anymore since i already changed out the other parts for troubleshooting purposes.
This is the first time a PSU has died on me so any help or tips appreciated because im not really sure wat gets affected. Thanks in advance
