When I turn my XP laptop on, it boots straight to PC Recovery with the following message:

"PC Recovery Environment is incomplete
PC Recovery Reinstalls the environment"

I had the recovery CDs but have tried to use them 3 times, the get to a certain point and stop, it was stuck on that same spot for more than 10 hours.

Does anybody know how I can get around this?

Did you previously try to recover it? It's odd that it would just come up. Do you have an actual XP CD? I'd try doing a repair install, only touches your system files, not your private files.

I tried to recover it previously with the recovery cds that I made when I first got the laptop after a NTDLR error (I found out later that there was a simple solution for this, didnt know at the time). However, the recovery CDs froze and I could not finish the recovery.

Now, I dont know what to do because the discs wont work

Does your laptop have a recovery partition on your hard drive, in a hidden partition? There should be a key to press when starting up the pc. Usually F11 or F12.

It does have a recovery Partition. The only start up options are F9 (Boot Device Menu) and F10 (ROM Based Setup)
