Hello, this is my first post on this particular forum and I was hoping someone could he
lp me out because I am in a great need for computer help. I recently was installing a
dvd burner(http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/p..4322650,00.html)
and my computer keeps stalling/beeping ever since. I immediately disconnect
ed the IDE/power to the dvd burner after the computer froze/beeped continous
ly and tried to reboot but the computer still freezes at bios/beeps no matte
r what I do. I have tried different IDE cables, made sure that all of the c
ables for power/fan/etc. are plugged in and even changed the RAM into a diff
erent slot. I was very dilligent about turning the power off/taking the pow
er cord out of the computer before working on anything but I do not understa
nd what could have happened to make the computer behave like this. I have a
gigabyte 8PE667 Ultra motherboard and the computer was working completely f
ine before I attempted to install the dvd-burner. Whenever I boot the compu
ter up, it beeps once but usually beeps indefinately in quick bursts before
bios can even identify my different IDE drives. I do not understand how a s
imple installation could have caused such havoc and would appreciate any hel
p greatly because I am in a definite bind..
Thanks in advance,
Cullen
