Computer Freezes!!

My PC Freezes sometimes, I can be doing the simplest thing like checking my email. For example The screen freezes but i can still move my mouse and use Ctrl alt Del to bring up the task manager. But I cant execute any commands? If i continue to click rapidly my mouse locks up and pc starts to beep? It also happens sometimes in a windows based program and while i am gaming as well. Any thoughts?

make sure that your ram isn't by by using a program such as Memtest86......also that the computer isn't overheating.
