Hi,
Put pretty simple tonight i noticed my Nvidia 9800gt graphics card was getting hot. So i whipped it out and removed that thick layer of dusk from the heatsink.
I put it back in, in hopes of getting back to some gaming.
Well my pc failed to pass the "verifying DMI data pool" text upon boot.
I opened up the computer and tightend all my connections...
computer still failed to pass.
After a night of reading and trying things out i came to the belief i had damaged my graphics card with my fairly rough static procausions.
In a bit of sarcasim... me being all upset, i choose the "Load Failsafe Default Settings" in the bios and save+restart.
The "verifying dmi data pool" screen quickly changed to "updated dmi data pool" and than proceded to bootstraps.
I do not understand, that does not appair to be a logical fix!
Was i just lucky and will my computer fail to boot next time??? heh we will find out soon.
