Computer display screwing up

Hi, I have a HP 8201 Desktop running Windows 95, and its recently started to display on a small number of colours , not to mention it keeps locking up when applications try to use mid range to intensive graphics.

Anyone know what the problem is?

OK if its a windows 95 computer it is honestly time to junk it.

Haha , I know that, it's not my main computer but just one in the house that the kids are using, but im not exactly high on funds so I can't upgrade their one yet (myself I have a PC running Vista) ... just wanted to know what the possible problems were.

Try switching monitors and if that doesn't work it sounds like the video card is dying. You can probably still replace it by going to a small shop. They usually have older PCI or AGP (not sure which that HP uses) cards lying around.
