COMPUTER CRASH!!

HI

I HAVE HAD A FEW PROBLEMS WITH MY COMPUTER CRASHING
( I HAVE SWITCHED THE COMPUTER OFF BY THE POWER BUTTON WHILST THE COMPUTER WAS STILL RUNNING)

WHEN I TURN THE COMPUTER ON THE SCREEN GOES BLANK AND WINDOWS WILL NOT LOAD WHAT IS THE CORRECT QUICKEST PRCEDURE TO FIX THE PROBLEM WITH OUT DELETING MY WHOLE SYSTEM AND HAVING TO RELOAD WINDOWS

Place the windows installation DVD into the DVD drive and restart the computer.
Boot from the DVD into the System Recovery Options screen.
Select Command prompt
Type: chkdsk C: /f /r
