Compu crashes during thunder.

I have two computers connected via an ups. During thunder I did not unplug them but one fo them crashed. That has happened one time before to me as well. While the other one kept running with out a problem. Why would that happen? The computer just became unresponsive. I thought that thunder can damadge the computer or cause it to shut down. Now in my case it caused the OS to become unresponsive.

The Batteries in your UPS maybe weak.

It is not an old battery. I got it half a year ago but it is not a very powerfull one. I got it for 50 euros but I am also behind a extension cord with surg protection so double protection.
