Default Cleaning an LCD

Somehow a flat bit of dirt (around the size of a system tray icon) has gotten stuck near the bottom of my screen, and I can't seem to easily scrape it off. I'm worried about damaging my screen if try any harder. Is there an easy and effective way to clean a screen?

Alcohol. Wet a tissue a little and wipe lightly. The alcohol will dissolve whatever is stuck to your screen and evaporate when your done using it.

They can take a fairly hard finger push but just not a punch.
