Default Chipset clips on motherboard - reattach?

I have a tower here where the chipset heat sink clips (those small U shaped clips that poke through the motherboard) had gotten pulled out. Is there a logical way to reattach them? Or is this typically an unfortunate recipe for a new motherboard?

Default Re: Chipset clips on motherboard - reattach?

You need some type of thermal adhesive:
Newegg.com - Arctic Silver ASTA-7G (2-PC-SET) Premium Silver Thermal Adhesive - Thermal Compound / Grease
or
some thermal adhesive tape.

The as5 is better but be careful not to overspread it as it can short out connections as it is conductive.

Unless of course you want a new mb in which case there is no way to fix it.
