My friend bought a new case for his computer because he found out he has nowhere to put his new hdd that he bought. He took everything out of the old comp and put them in the new case. The spacers are in place and everything is hooked up correctly but he isnt getting video feed. His mobo is the INTEL D865GBF. Everything from the original comp is in this new case, the new hdd and gpu he bought hasnt been added. It sounds like the hdd is spinning up and everything is working but the screen remains blank. Yes, the monitor is plugged in, its been checked with another comp and it works fine. Any ideas why he wouldnt be getting any feed?

He probally hasn't plugged in one of the power cables. Check that the power for the video card is connected (if it has a slot for one) check that the 12v is installed (4 pin) into the motherboard.

Do the fans spin up? Any beeps? Any metal shorting anything out?

Maybe he killed his video card with static during the transfer. Try the video card in another computer and try putting one you know works in.

Hes been using onboard video previously, he bought a video card because the onboard wasnt cutting it at all. The gpu should be arriving today or tomorrrow, is there a chance then that his mobo is DOA?
