Default CD Writing.

I cannot seem to write to discs. I use allsorts of programs and It just tells me to insert a disc when there is one in. Can anyone help me?

And what type of disc(s) are you using? Are you sure they're blank (if they're Recordable and not Re-Writeable).

The CD's are blank and on the CD it says DVD-R.

It doesn't say DVD-RW? In my experience, most DVD burners say DVD-RW, is they are readers, DVD-ROM. Could be wrong though.

open up device manager and tell us what make and model of cd drive you have.
