CD-Rom problems?

I've bought two Samsung 1k TB HDD's and was intending on setting up a raid 0. Problem is my Window's Vista Disc won't read, and it's relatively new.

I tried using just one HDD to see if that was maybe the problem, but still same problem as before. When I go to the drive in explorer it says "insert disc".

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Since Vista, it has been on a DVD. So a CD-ROM can not read DVDs.

It's a CD/DVD rom.

EDIT: Just tried disc in my laptop and it's readable. CD/DVD Rom is reading DVD movies but won't read the dvd OS disc?

you can get a brand new dvd-rw drive for less than $20.

I bought a new drive from the egg, replaced my old one and began to load up my OS on my HDD. Now I get prompted with "CD drivers missing". Tried to update drive, it is up to date and cannot load drivers. Uninstalled, reinstalled...etc. Tried even loading drivers off flash drive when prompted to search for drivers. No luck.
