Question CD-ROM Cleaning?

There are options in pc for drives cleaning and fragmenting, But how can one clean CD-ROM drive. I 've tried out running a cd called cd-rom cleaner.
But that has only two brushes attached, and i don't think it helps.
Isn't there any inbuilt system software to clean out Cd-rom drives???.

Those CD-ROM cleaners destroy alot of CD-ROM's.

Use a lint free q-tip to gently wipe dust off the lazer System software CANNOT pysically clean drives...

yeah. those cleaning cd's are dodgy. cd drives do not require "cleaning" as you think of it

My pc laptop is of pentium 2, made in the year 99. Does every pc 's cd-ROM works with how and when that pc was built???.
Like for eg. pentium3 and pentium 4 and the pcs which were built in recent past years give a much better performance! with their cd-ROM.
I am asking this cause, just a week ago i bought a pirated game cd. And when i loaded it in my cd-rom, it started producing a song screech screech. After that my cd-rom is not giving good performance. Video and data cd are opening. But auto-run cds and installation programs cds are not working well!!!. I've tried cd of cd-rom cleaner as i've already said and its still not getting corrected.
Any solutions.
