can't open up back up har drive

I have a 240gig free agent installed on my computer. It worked fine. I have since reformatted my system. After doing so I can't get the free agent to come up. When I click on that drive in " my computer," I get some images and back up files. The files I can look at but there is no where that says anything about restoring or anything like that.

Is there software that came with this?

Probably will have to reinstall from the companies website.

The files can only be restored using the software that you used to back them up.
