Hey guys,

I have a laptop here, windows 10
User said wireless randomly stopped working one morning
When I looked at it, I could see it in device manager but could not see it in network connections.
Tried removing drivers, installing old/new ones, same result.
We even had lenovo come and replace the wireless card, same thing.
Wired was working fine until we removed every network driver, rebooted and now none show up in network connections.
They're showing up in device manager.
It's not in airplane mode, we checked the wireless key on the keyboard.
Am I missing something?
Is windows corrupt? Reimage?
Suggestions appreciated.

Thanks

Are they showing as working properly / enabled in Device Manager?

Tried a system restore to a point when they were working?

Did you choose to also delete the drivers when uninstalling, then re-install from the manufacturer's site?

Yup, in device manager it shows that it's working
Co worker said she did a system restore, might have to try that myself.
And yes deleted drivers when uninstalling.

Did you try removing the drivers in safe mode? I had a couple of Windows 7 Dell e6400 laptops with similar issues. Removing the drivers under normal ops didn't work, but when I did it in safe mode, I got connectivity back.

There's also a program called connection monitor 3 that I've had luck with.

I know OP said everything looks ok under network connections and device manager- or did..

what about ipconfig--- what ip is it getting?

as for windows being corrupt.. did you run sfc /scannow ??

I'm wfh today so I'll get a chance to look at it again tomorrow.
I'll try the safe mode thing and sfc.
Maybe I should just reimage it, all this time spent, I could have probably been done if I started fresh again.
Thanks for the suggestions

When you ran "ipconfig /all command" , did the Ethernet and wireless card show..? As in is there physical address stated (MAC address)...

this thread can be closed
removing our encryption brought the drivers back
