Default Can anyone hellp with jvm.dll error on a brand new laptop?

I'm tryng to download betsafe poker software, but receive the following msg:

The program can't start because jvm.dll is missing from your computer.
Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

I also get msg..

C:\Windows\jvm.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system asministrator or the software vendor for support.

I dont know how to resolve this, I am using a brand new laptop too
Would appreciate any help. Cheers. Should I return the laptop, it is less than 1 month old?

Yeah. That is a Java file. Be sure you have the latest version.

Thanks for replies. I uninstalled java and reinstalled it to ensure up-to-date, but still same msg.
The strange thing is that this software downloaded fine initially, but when there was an update to it, it disappeared from desktop.

Have you tried installing and/or running the program in compatibility mode for XP or Vista? Or tried to Run as Administrator when you open the program?

Run as Admin: Right click the shortcut for the game > Run as Administrator

For compatibililty mode: right click the shortcut for the game or the installer for the game > Properties > Compatibility tab > Check the box to run in compatibility mode > choose either XP SP3 or Vista SP1 (you can always switch it to one or the other if one doesn't work).
