Default BSOD's on booting

this is for a friends laptop and i get a bsod.
i ran into safe mode and it just wouldnt load.
heres the error code i got so hopefully you guys know whats uip

"STOP: (000021a)Fatal system error




0XC0......22"

Tried using the repair disk? Sounds like a corrupted boot sector.

I think he meant a repair reinstall.

YA i was just referring to the "repair" option on the os disk. Although some manufacturers only give a reinstall disk rather than the full OS disk.
