Default Broken USB Port

Windows XP

I had an external hardrive plugged into the front USB ports of my tower. Someone tripped over it and it ripped out the metal and basically busted the front ports. All other USB ports stopped functioning and I was getting errors about unrecognized USB devices being plugged in. I have 4 ports in the back of the tower and 2 ports in the front.

I tried to disable usb ports/controllers in device manager to try to isolate the problem that way with no success.

What do I do now to get some ports back?
What other information do you need to answer this questions?

Default

Open up your case and find the wires that lead from the front USB ports and disconnect them from your motherboard. Then enable USB and you should be fine.
