Boot up

Hello everyone,
Need a little help here, went to my start icon and did a restart of Windows XP Home service pack 2. The computer turned off but did not restart. Now all I can do is get the darn thing to a post beep and it shuts off. Any ideas??? The LED on the motherboard lights up when the power switch on the power supply is turned on. But when attempting to start the computer all I get is just a post beep then shuts off and will no do it again until I reset the power switch on the power supply. Would it be a bad power supply, ram, processor... Thank you in advance!!!

it sounds like failing power supply , because the ram & CPU have nothing to do with starting up the power

I agree, try replacing the power source.

Thank you all, got new power supply and some ram just to be safe. Installed the new power supply problem fixed...thanks again!!!
