Default Boot is slow

Whenever i turn on my pc it takes about 20 seconds before it actually begins to boot and stuff shows up on the screen, despite it being on the whole time. Any help?

What are your system specs?

how many running processes do you have at startup?

go in and turn off all the crap that starts with your computer.
(from the start menu, click run and then enter in one of the above)
read up a little, don't just go in and start turnign stuff off.
but there are many extraneous processes and programs that start that are not needed.
also, go into bios and make sure your boot order is correct and that you have it set so it is only booting the devices you have.
