yes, I do know someone with an xp cd who would let me borrow it. Problem is I won't be able to get my hands on it for a week or so. At least there is some hope.
I was hoping there would be a fairly simple way to get my pc back up and running quickly because this whole episode has caused a lot of inconvience.
Anyway, for the meantime i'll continue to try things from the boot menu and system setup in the vain hope something will work
