My Bios won't read one of my sata drive... all I want to do is reformat the drive anyways. When I look for it in the bios i see the channel section taken but it doesn't say disabled... it just says nothing... so I guess that tells me it knows there is some type of device there... but can't read it. Any suggestions?

Hello,

Is this a brand new drive? It sounds like the drive is dead if 2 different PC's can not see the drive to format it.

Have you tried GParted LiveCD? That might be able to see it and format it for you.

Cheers,
Mak

System won't even get past the first screen with the motherboard logo. Its like it just stops... one computer i can get into the bios... but it won't run gparted... and the other computer i can run gparted... but it gets stuck at the first screen. I'm thinking the drive is toast... as it probably caused all my other problems. I'll see what I can do with it though... might be a way to recover it.
