Up until today my computer (Dell Dimension 5150) had been using a default C: drive, with an added DVD-RW drive and a 200GB seagate hard drive. However, today the system BIOS suddenly stopped detecting everything except for the default hard drive. I tried resetting the CMOS, but BIOS still cannot detect the other drives. However, when I log into Windows XP after the CMOS reset the drives show up under My Computer. How can Windows detect the drives while BIOS does not? And the weirdest part is, after the next restart neither Windows nor BIOS detects the drive, unless I reset the CMOS again. Completely confused why this is occurring.
