Hey. I'm fixing this Presario 5000 series computer for a friend of a friend, and I had to reformat it. The hard drive has TWO partitions, and one is named something with "system" in it... Anyway. It contains about 1 gig of unknown Compaq stuff. I don't know what it is. I don't use OEM computers, so I'm completely clueless about it. Can I just delete this stuff? I've already reformatted the main partition with Windows 2K.

A bios can't be on a hard drive. You will have to look it up to see if anything important is on the partition.

If you're putting on a fresh install of windows, then just delete all partitions and install, might make sure you have the drivers for the computer first...
