Default BFG 9600 GT OC Tempeatures

Hello to all of you.

I just purchased a BFG 9600 GT OC. What are the stable temperatures I should expect from this...I really don't want to burn it or my CPU up.
My CPU at idle runs around 33
The GPU Idles around 46
If I play one round of Call of Duty 4 online that GPU has gotten as high as 72.
Is that normal...and to be expected. Im almost afraid to sit and play round after round online if I may damage my brand new V-card or worse my entire system.

I added a 92mm fan at the side but that made the CPU idle temp's go up quite a bit. Help, suggestions much appreciated.

Thanks for your time,

-Martin :-)

I think as long as its under 80C on your gpu then its fine.

Your cpu idle temp is fine.

If a 92mm fan just made your temps go UP then check on the airflow... is it like, blowing hot air onto your card, or is it sucking cold air out?

I added the 92mm side fan to blow air in over V-card

And temps are going up? Because of it?

yes, adding the side fan caused the CPU temps to raise about 10 degrees at idle... :-( i feel I need better exhaust so that more air is drawn in...if Im thinking correctly...but

There isn't enough room at the top to put a fan sucking out...nor is there clearance at the rear of the case to change the existing 92mm over to a 120mm...but maybe I could fabricate something to work.

Maybe I should just get a new Bigger case...
