BattleField 2142

Alright, according to a couple searches on google I am not completely alone on this.
I bought BF2142 and realised every once in a while, while playing the game my whole computer would freeze, this happens randomly throughout playing.
My computer is very reliable with other games and battlefield seems to not like my 64Bit hardware or operating system.
I downloaded the x2 proc drivers from amd, and reinstalled my motherboard/graphics card drivers and it hasn't helped.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

do you have all the latest patches i think there is like two or three out.......

Yeah, that was one of the first things I checked, already updated and googled to see if there was any kind of a fix out, but apparently not.
