Bad - Computer Wont Boot?

Okay, on my 2nt pc, i went to turn it on a few hours ago and all i get is a black screen, and a constant beeping noise.
it worked today at 12:00 no probs, now it wont start? i checked all the wires, and everything seems fine.


add: This is not overclocked. windows xp. 1.8ghz, 40 gig harddrive.

any ideas?

Failed memory................No post. How many mem. sticks? If more that 1, place in individual sticks until it hangs with the long beep. Try reseating the memory and if it boots run memtest86 on that RAM.

Okay this is a newb thing but i figured out , i had the enter key stuck down from the cat, lol. But now all i get is alittle black flashing dot in the top left screen, wtf is this now?

i see the emachines screen for a split sec, then it goes to a black screen, i tryed to put the emachine disk in and do a windows restore but it just goes to the black screen w/ the flashing dot.

okay, i unplugged all the jumpers on the hdd, turned it on. no opp. system found, put them back on and reset the pc. bam! it started lol....some times i wonder about computers...
