Default Autoclick feature on XP or laptop touchpad?

Is there an autoclick feature on XP or a synaptics touchpad for HP laptop? When my mouse curser dwells/hovers over something like the close window "X", the window will close without any user action. I have looked over all the mouse settings and have found nothing that would account for this action. I think I may be just missing some setting, so hopefully somebody here will be able to help me out. Thanks in advance for the help.

I also looked at the XP Accessibility features, and there was nothing in there that would cause the mouse to use an autoclick feature.

I also am currently looking at the drivers, I have downloaded the newest synaptics touchpad drivers and will be installing them tommorow. Hopefully that works. Thanks for the reply, makes me feel good that my train of thought is following a "super techies" such as yourself.
