Default Audio Drivers

Hello, Tech Forums. I have an issue to which I've been trying for hours to resolve.

Okay, here goes. I installed a new motherboard, an MSI K8MM-V, I beleive, and since then, I haven't had sound. I've tried downloading drivers, but to no use. I've tried Realtek AC97 and Vinyl AC97, both of which is said to be compatible with my Motherboard.

Any comments on what I should do?

PS: Quick response requested.

Welcome to Tech-Forums!

Have you tried installing the drivers through the CD that the factory has gave you?

Is it anything similar to MSI Live Update Monitor?

If so, then I have it.

Edit, I downloaded and ran it. Now what?

No, actually that program is just to check out your systems specs. I asked you to download that program to check your motherboard model.

Yeah, it's the MSI Live Update thing.
MSI -- MICRO-STAR INT'L CO., LTD.

I think after you update your motherboard's drivers, the Audio should work.

Download MSI K8MM-V 1.9 Driver for Windows 95/98/9X/ME/NT/2000/2K/XP/2003 - Softpedia

Driver V1.9. I think that's the latest driver.

Ok... Lemme clear this up... I referred him to this forum cuz I couldn't help him over MSN. Wha tI had him do, is try installing that driver. Didn't work. I had him try uninstalling the device/restarting/letting it reinstall, and then update to the latest driver. That still didn't work. And he also told me that he's never had sound working (at least that's how I gathered it). It's onboard sound, BTW.

Onboard sound usually works once you install drivers. Something is wrong with his onboard sound then.
