Default Ati Radeon 9550 Problems

I installed my ATI Radeon9550, and after installing it i would play halflife2 or run the internet for a little while and then, it would lock up, screen would go blank and freak out. Then it would say something about VPU Recover has reset your Graphics accelerator as to was no longer responding to graphics driver commands>Then it saysVPU Recover was unabale to fully recover from hardwar deadlock, and has switched to software rendering. To restore hardware rendering, you must restart your computer.I DONT want to restart it if the same thing happens ever time.

Whats going on?
Can anyone Help?

My system Specs are
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition 2002 Service pack 2
AMD Sempron Processor 2800+
1.60 GHz
512 MB of RAM
ATI RADEON 9550 Graphics Card

Try to uninstall the driver and download an updated version from www.ati.com . If that does not work then I feel that you need to RMA the card for another.
