Asus Maximus mobo, trouble with sound card

Hello,
I just built my new computer and when i try to install the drivers for the soundcard that came with the mobo, the driver installation program says that it can't install the drivers because the "hardware does not support the sound card"
(not exact quote)
Has anyone had a similar problem?
any advice?

do u have the sound card pluged into the right slot? it has to be in the top top slot on the mobo its hard to see its black otherwise ul get this error, i did the same thing, if its still doing the same thing ur sound card is doa. hopefully thats not the case.
