Asus A6 laptop mouse problem

Hello people!

I have a problem with my new laptop. I cant install this logitech mouse that came with the package. If I try to plug it into the usb port, Windows wont start. It will stay in the ASUS starting window and the mouse will blink every 5seconds or so.

When I unplug it, Windows will start and everything is fine. But when I try to plug the mouse again, with Windows XP on, the computer will not recognize the mouse eventhough I have Logitech drivers on my pc.

The model of the mouse is M-UV55a Logitech. Asus text on top of it.

I think - im not sure, but theres a setting in the Bios that says something about USB mice, make sure that it says that support is enabled and that the power settings arent set to wake by mouse
