No it won't. BF2 does not like dual-core CPU's. You'll get random crashes, connection problems, etc.
Since I don't know a perminant way, I'll tell you a way to use one core but you have to do it everytime you play. Load BF2, then ctrl + alt + del and go to task manager, then Performance and de-select one of the CPU's. It doesn't matter which.
