Hi,

Im having a problem with my computer, AGAIN!

The bios is recognising my hard-drive, capacity heads etc,
but its not booting from it, i keep getting this error:
"PXE-E61 - Media Test failure, check cable" I've tried a different IDE cable...so all i can think of is a bad hard-drive but this error has happened before and i just fiddled with the IDE cable and it worked again but no joy this time so resulted in changing the IDE cable but still no joy!

Suggestions please?

Check the pins on the HDD. I had that happen to me once and it was a pin that was bent so flat that the cable went "in" and looked fine. Only after taking the HDD out and really looking at it did I see it was a bent pin. I was lucky to, as all I did was slowly bend it back and then CAREFULLY put the ribbon cable on and it worked fine.

Hmmm....i'll try i have to admit that two pins look like they have gone into/sunk it to the hard-drive if you follow my drift.

Well i've bent the pins back into place, but it still doesn't work
