Annoying icon

I have an icon in my lower right taskbar and I can't seem to get it away. Its "Safely Remove Hardware" icon and when I click it, it has my 2nd hard drive highlighted for remove... I do not wan't this icon anymore, or have my 2nd harddrive removed.. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.

If you're HD is connected by USB (external), then that icon will remain.

If it's not, then something is amiss.

The icon will also show up if you are using sata drives as well. I have it on mine but never worried about removing it.

go to start menu, then right click in a blank area to bring up the properties. then taskbar/customise. then click on safely remove icon and always hide
