ive read somewhere that they are coming out with a quad core this summer but that will possibly be 2 chips that are both quad core and altogether 8 core by that time intel will have made one chip that is 8 core.
im just saying wouldnt it be cheaper to the public than by one chip rather than buying 2 also you have to get dual socket mobo and there expensive

ok, I think what everyone is getting at is NATIVE Quad core. As already stated, they don't exist in the retail market yet. What a native quad core is, would be FOUR cores on one die. The Intel Quad core isn't NATIVE quad, because it is TWO dual core die's on one chip.
