so i just finished connecting up my new upgrades to crappy old dell:
mobo: asus p4p800 se
cpu: 2.8ghz p4 northwood
ram: 1gb geil
psu: 500w antec smartpower
so i connected up all the stuff, firstly i couldnt find where to connect the cable for the cd drives (on the mobo), so i plugged it in to the socket below the hdd one which was called ide pri, i put it in ide sec, is this right???
and when i turned it on i dont think i need to set up the bios, it just sorter showed the usule asus loading screen , then stated to boot, but i got a blue stop error saying all ths crap that there is a prob with the hdd:
saying stuff like check for viruses on the hard drive, it may not be properly installed, ect ect.
EDIT: error code is : 0x0000007b
as a result i cant get windows to start, could the problem be that i still have the windows installed on there that dell put on, so its a dell copy and it may not work with all the stuff i put in.......any ideas??????
