A8X-S No LAN detected need Help

I have this new board and it will not detect Ethernet LAN. I have rebooted modem and downloaded driver from different PC to thumb drve. Instal fails on PC. I am running XP pro. please help

Could it be the asus a8s-x not a8x-s board you are referring to? If you are unsure you can run CPU-Z to confirm.

Is this a new install of window? Did you install the chipset drivers and then the lan drivers?
