I've got an older AGP 2.0 compliant motherboard. SandraLite lists my MB as:

Manufacturer : AZZA Technology
MP Support : No
Model : VT8366-8233
System BIOS : 12/13/2001-VT8366-8233-6A6LVP8CC-00
Chipset : VIA KT266/A, KT333/A

The BIOS is actually a bit newer than that as I've recently updated to the latest version (which is still 4 years old).

I'm running an Athlon XP 1700 with windows XP SP2.

I thought that an ATI 9800XT 4X/8X AGP video card would be compatible with this system, but when I plugged it in (following proper installation procedures) my system stopped booting. It powers up but I get no video and no POST beep. Upon reinstalling my old card (Geforce 2 TI) the system booted just fine. The ATI card is pushed in as far as it will go.

Can anyone help me with this? I've searched google and various forums pretty thoroughly and I can't find a reason why it's not working.

It could be the video card, but I tend to think not. I don't have another system on which to test it.
