Default 6800 driver problems

ok i just installed my new 6800 and unlocked the pipes and shaders right away

i then tried to update the drivers to the newest nvidia ones booted up okay but when it came to the xp prof welcome screen it became a series of lines. i tried omega drivers too booted up fear system crashed.

so far the only drivers i can use are the ones asus packaged with the card any ideas? forceware 78.01 (currently using)

don't know. Lock the pipelines back up then upgrade to the newest drivers and see if the lines are there or not. If they aren't there, then try unlocking the pipes again.

If they appear after unlocking it with the newer drivers installed then I guess it has something to do with the pipes being unlocked and the way the newer drivers work. Don't really know

omega drivers are for ATI cards I think.

go to www.guru3d.com and look for other forceware drivers. they are always very up-to-date there
