okay, so my friend and i went out to buy at new case psu and video card, we got the super lan boy case(the best effing case ever) an antec trueblue 480 psu, and a 256mb pny 6600.

well we got the stuff moved to the new case got the new psu in and the video card in.....when we fired up the computer everything was working fine, we installed the new drivers that were on the disk.

that's when we had problems. the computer wouldn't last a minute before it would freeze up....i don't know why it would do this, we didn't even have enough time to go online and update the drivers.

his current system

athlon 2800+
512mb ram
mx4000 agp 4x/8x upgraded to the 6600 agp 4x/8x

do you think his system couldn't handle the card????

i know the psu was good cause i have the same one running an x800xt.....

Well before yout point the finger at any hardware try this:

Boot the computer up into safe mode by pressing f8 before windows loads and selecting safe mode.

Then uninstall all video drivers, and any other video driver software you may have (any of those gaming enhancement things if you have those).

Then go get the newest drivers from nvidias website.

If that doesnt work post again since it may be a hardware issue.

we tried that, and it really shouldn't have mattered cause he had an nvidia card in before....but he just took it back and is saving the cash back for the new computer sooooo

hahahah problem solved
