2nd Monitor Issues

Im having trouble connecting my 2nd monitor (a CRT with a VGA connection). I have a 6870 graphics card and my HDMI connection is my primary. I use a DVI to VGA adapter and my computer recognizes that monitor. I can drag things onto the monitor and the screen resolution shows both monitors and I can change the CRT resolution but for some reason the CRT monitor just shows the little blue box that says 'NO SIGNAL'.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try lowering the refresh rate.

Nothing changed and then it just changed itself back to default.
