Angry 2nd HardDrive Problems

Hi

i wonder if any could help me with a problem i'm haveing, i installed a 2nd hard drive in my sons computer which i i made it slave. in the bios its is all there and everything but in the Windows enviroment theres no sign of it i run windows XP pro with sp2, if anyone has any idea what the prob could be please let me know.

the hdd hasn't been formatted is my guess. go to control panel/administrative tools/computer management. then click on disk management down the bottom left. on the right it should show you diagrams of the file systems on the pc. one of them should be the hdd you have just installed and it will say something like "unallocated space". right click on that and find the option that says something along the lines of "new partition" or "create partition". from there you should get prompts to help you partition and format the drive
