A 20 pin PSU on a 24 pin Mobo?

Hi, I recently had a power surge that completely fried my Power supply unit, Thank god all of my other components were untouched. Anyways I had a spare PSU from an older computer so i decided to use that. The problem is that the cable only has 20 pin connectors while my computers mobo has a 24 pin receptor. My computer works fine, but I was just wondering what type of performance issues, if any would be had if I keep using this PSU. Thanks!

same with me it works fine - its just extra power for top systems but it doesnt really matter.
