10,000rpm WD drive how to tell its working at full speed?

i have the WD raptor 10k 36gb drive and i have a susppicion that i did not set it up correctly in bios for it to have work at full speed allowed by sata.

is there a way to test if it is in fact set up correctly to utilize its full potential?

If it says it is 10k rpm, it will run at 10k rpm. AFAIK

i have no doubt it spins at 10k
i was asking abotu transfer speed.

is there anything special that need to be set up in bios for that drive?

If your using win7 open task manager and hit performance tab/REsource Monitor/ Disk try moving some large file around and it will tell you the speeds..
also Wd should have some software for hard drive monitoring... all have a look for yeah

Also remember that old Raptors are SATA 150 and Velociraptors (newer) are SATA 300.
