Default 10,000rpm WD drive how to tell its working at full speed?

i have the WD raptor 10k 36gb drive and i have a susppicion that i did not set it up correctly in bios for it to have work at full speed allowed by sata.

is there a way to test if it is in fact set up correctly to utilize its full potential?

If it says it is 10k rpm, it will run at 10k rpm. AFAIK

If your using win7 open task manager and hit performance tab/REsource Monitor/ Disk try moving some large file around and it will tell you the speeds..
also Wd should have some software for hard drive monitoring... all have a look for yeah :P

WD Support > Downloads > Legacy Internal > WD Raptor

This is Data Lifeguard Diagnostic for Windows

Might give some info you want

also i dint know if you had the 32Mb or 16Mb
so here the wd web page for Raptor 10,000rpm
WD Support > Downloads > Legacy Internal > WD Raptor

Also remember that old Raptors are SATA 150 and Velociraptors (newer) are SATA 300.
